Hopes for next year
For next year I hope that I graduate!!!!!! That is the most important thing. Next, I hope that the basketball and baseball team make it to state. The main goal is to make it there and have a good enough record that we don't have to go through districts. Winning districts would be great, but state is the ultimate prize. Having the state trophy in two sports would make my high school career. Also, I want to have amazing grades. I need to get good grades so I can get some academic scholarships and sports scholarships. I hope my senior year does not fly by and I enjoy all the moments that I can.

Leaving
My grandma left me last year. She passed away and that was a very hard for me. She was a very sweet grandma and having her pass away was devastating. She always had treats and rewards for being a good kid. I would always get $5 when we visited her because I would help her around the house. I was always the better kid out of my two brothers. She also had a basketball hoop in the driveway and I would hoop it up. She death was very sad and hard to let go. I am over it, but it is still sad.

Bergan baseball
Right now, the Fremont Bergan baseball team is on a role!!!! We are on a three game winning streak. We have defeated omaha north, south sioux city and recently D.C. west. This is a great start to the season and we could be 6-0 if we hadn't lost by 1 in two games. Bergan is close to being ranked and that hasn't happened in a long time. Our team is fueled by our powerful offense and our pitching is holding up pretty well. With injuries to Taylor Patrick and Patrick Walz, we have held our own without them. We play beatrice thursday and a doubleheader in seward saturday. We are looking for a 7-2 record for the start of next week.

She stops by my locker to talk and cried when I told her I wasnt going to prom with her and I would not be her boyfriend. She is pretty wierd. I hurt her feelings pretty bad and I kind of feel bad and I also dont feel bad. I think shes over me and I am really glad!!!!

Elementary memories
At Milliken Park Elementary, sports were a big thing between the classes. Football was a good sport to play, but soccer was the main sport. We kept records and scores for every game we played. All of our recesses were devoted to the soccer field. My class was Mrs. Nelson and we played Mrs. Longacre's class. Our classes were very competitive and never wanted to lose.
One day, we were playing and the recess was about to be over and the game close. I don't remember if we were tied or if we were winning, but the game was tight. The recess teacher told us 1 minute left. Devin Weatherly was from the other class and he was their "leader". The recess was almost over and we were both going for the ball and right as the recess was over, I connected with his leg instead of the ball. My foot hurt and obviously his leg hurt really bad. He laid there as everybody was lining up to go back into school. I looked back and he still laid there and the teacher was surrounding him. By the end of school it was brought to my attention that he didn't return to class after recess. After a few days he was back. He was on crutches and in a cast. I had broken his leg! From that point on he has hated me every since. I felt bad for the kid but the kid needed to be put into check haha. I have not seen him since elementary school.

Spring Baseball
Basketball is over and that means that baseball is starting. The new head baseball coach is Tim Champ. He has coached me during the summer. I am excited to start baseball because that means summer is almost here. Baseball is a great sport for me because of my competitive nature. I get to hang out with a different kind of group of people. Ian Nick is the only other basketball player playing baseball. I hope that this season is successful and leads to a state title. I am pumped for baseball and the new challenges.

Love
Being the guy that I am I don't have very many things that I loeve. I love baseball and basketball. I have loved these sports since I was little. my dad got me into these sports. Outside these sports I love my family and friends. They are important in my life so I have to keep them close. I am not a very good mushy lovey guy, but I do love some things. While people have their ways of love, I have mine

Self-evaluation
I believe that this year has taught me to work as a group and depend on others to get the job done. The Rustler is a good example. We need to rely on people to get their work in on time. I think that I have been pretty good at getting work in by deadlines. I know that I have not been perfect but I have been good. The staff relies on me to be on time, so I try to do that. Some people do not get their work in on time and it makes everybodys life stressful and that is not helpful. I know that people can get better at getting work done they just need a push from others.

Closers position
CHICAGO -- Last spring, Kerry Wood, Bob Howry and Carlos Marmol competed for the Cubs' closer job. Wood won, and notched 34 saves in his first season in that role. This year, Wood and Howry are gone, having departed via free agency. It would seem logical that Marmol would inherit the role. Not so fast, Lou Piniella says. The Cubs acquired Kevin Gregg from Florida this offseason, and Piniella doesn't want to declare Marmol the closer until he sees both pitchers this spring. "Let them compete," Piniella said. "I feel comfortable with Marmol, there's no question. But we traded for this other young man, and he was a closer over there with success. Give him a chance, too." Gregg has 61 saves over the last two seasons with the Marlins while Marmol has eight career saves, getting seven of those last year when Wood was injured. Who has the edge? "That's really for Lou to decide," Cubs pitching coach Larry Rothschild said. "I think Carlos has proved what kind of job he can do in that role. I'd be surprised if there is anybody who can do it better. We're confident in what he can do." Marmol is confident, too. His agent told him at the end of the 2008 season that the Cubs wanted the pitcher to prepare for the job. Marmol stuck to the same offseason routine that he's done the last few years. It's worked so far. "We'll see what happens," Marmol said.
I think that the role for the closer position was interesting because Marmol was my candidate but they got Gregg. He is a good closer and I think that this blog can stir up a good discussion in the Cubs organization about that position. If Marmol isn't the closer he will probably close a lot. He is a hard thrower and that is always helpful during the end of the game. I liked the blog.

Acc Power Conference
The Acc is showing why it is the best conference in basketball. Wake Forest was undefeated and number 1 before they lost to Virginia Tech. The Hokies have a history of beating the top ranked teams. Number 2 Duke is going to be the new number 1 after this week and that will upset the Carolina fans. Number 6 North Carolina just defeated number 9 Clemson in dominating fashion. And by the end of this week the Tarheels will be in the top 5. They were number 1 before they lost to Boston College. The Acc has 4 top ten teams. Tied with the Big East. I am glad the Acc is keeping the tradition of a power conference. My team is Carolina so having them in the top five is great for me. When the Tarheels take on the Blue Devils and Carolina wins, that is always a great day for a Tarheel fan.

Baseball
I am an expert at baseball. I amaze my dad and friends when I know players that they have not even heard of. I know all of the teams and at least one player on every team. I also know the basic rules of the game. I like to quiz my dad on players back in the day that he does not have a clue on.
An out is when the ball beats you to the base and is caught. Also when the ball is caught in the air. A team gets 3 outs per inning. The home team gets the final at-batt if they are losing going into the 9th inning. If they are winning, then they do not bat their 9th time. A single is when the batter gets to first base and nothing further. A double is getting to second base. A triple is getting third base and a homerun is when a player hits the ball over the outfield fence or touches all 4 bases before he is out. That is called an inside the park homerun.
Baseball is america's past time, so it is fitting that I know a lot about the game.
